Junior doctors suspend planned nationwide strike
Dr. (Med) Louisa Afia Nkrumah, President of The Junior Doctors’ Association of Ghana, has announced the suspension of its intended nationwide withdrawal of services following assurances and engagements with the Ministry of Health and relevant stakeholders.
This decision was taken as a gesture of goodwill and in the interest of uninterrupted healthcare delivery to the public.
The suspension opportune the Government to implement its commitments.
The Association has vowed to monitor closely the progress of this issue.
The Junior Doctors’ Association Ghana also emphasise that should there be any delays in honouring the agreed timelines, they will be left with no other option but to reinstate industrial action without notice.
The Association states that it remains committed to the health of Ghanaians but will not compromise the welfare and dignity of Junior Doctors.
