Interior Minister inaugurates advisory board to strengthen national security strategy

Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, has officially inaugurated the Advisory Board of the Ministry of the Interior, a strategic platform aimed at deepening collaboration between the Ministry and its stakeholders to enhance national security and public safety.
The inauguration ceremony marks the operationalisation of a key governance mechanism outlined under Section 39 of the Civil Service Act, 1993 (PNDCL 327).
The Board is tasked with providing high-level guidance on policy development, planning priorities, and operational strategies to boost the Ministry’s effectiveness in fulfilling its mandate.
In his address, Mr. Muntaka emphasised the need for robust partnerships in addressing contemporary security threats, including cybercrime, human trafficking, and the proliferation of small arms.
“Collaboration is key to tackling the increasingly complex threats we face.
The Government is committed to retooling and resourcing our security agencies to carry out their duties with professionalism and efficiency,” he stated.
He assured Board members that their insights and feedback will play a critical role in shaping a modern, responsive, and professional security architecture.
“Together, we will build a security framework that ensures safety and stability for all Ghanaians and leaves a lasting legacy for the nation,” he added.
The newly inaugurated Board features a diverse membership, including security professionals, civil society representatives, and policy experts, creating a space for inclusive dialogue and collective problem-solving.
This initiative, the Minister noted, aligns with President John Dramani Mahama’s vision to reset Ghana on a path of peace, institutional strength, and sustainable development
