Hard-earned progress, not mere luck – Ato Forson declares during Mid-Year Budget presentation

Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has affirmed that Ghana’s recent economic gains are not coincidental but the result of deliberate, disciplined policies and collective national effort.
Delivering the 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review in Parliament on Thursday, July 24, the Minister attributed the modest signs of recovery to the government’s strategic interventions over the past year.
“The results we are witnessing are not by chance.
They are the rewards of hard work, discipline, and prudent economic management,” Dr Forson stated.
He stressed that although the country was not yet out of the woods, the current indicators were a testament to Ghana’s resilience and the soundness of the administration’s economic approach.
He noted improvements in inflation control, primary balance, and fiscal discipline, and said the government would continue implementing targeted policies to stimulate inclusive growth.
“Let us be clear: we did not stumble upon this progress. We earned it, and we must sustain it,” he added, calling on Ghanaians to remain committed to the ongoing economic reforms.
Dr Forson concluded by assuring Parliament and the public of the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability, promising that the remainder of the year would focus on protecting the vulnerable while consolidating the gains made thus far.
