DVLA begins construction of new office in Jomoro to expand service delivery
The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has begun processes to establish a permanent office in Jomoro in the Western Region as part of efforts to decentralise service delivery and improve access to essential services.
Leading a delegation to the area, the Chief Executive Officer of the DVLA, Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey, conducted a site inspection of a new Ultra Centre and officially broke ground for the construction of a dedicated DVLA office.
According to Mr. Kotey, the initiative forms part of the Authority’s broader mission to bring DVLA services closer to communities across the country.
He explained that to ensure immediate service delivery, operations will commence through the Ultra Centre while construction of the permanent office building is ongoing.
The DVLA CEO disclosed that the Ultra Centre is expected to be ready for opening within the coming months, paving the way for residents of Jomoro and surrounding communities to access licensing and vehicle registration services without travelling long distances.
He further announced that vehicles registered at the new Jomoro station will carry the “JM” prefix or suffix, marking a significant milestone for the municipality.
Mr. Kotey expressed appreciation to local authorities and stakeholders for their support, noting that the project represents a new chapter in improving public service delivery in the Jomoro community.
