Over 120,000 students reimbursed under gov't’s ‘No Fees Stress’ programme – Felix Ofosu Kwakye

The Minister in charge of Government Communications, Mr. Felix Ofosu Kwakye, has provided an update on the government’s flagship ‘No Fees Stress’ programme, highlighting significant progress made since the initiative was launched to ease the financial burden on students in tertiary institutions.
Speaking on the status of the programme as of the 7th August 2025 application deadline, Mr. Ofosu Kwakye disclosed that:
207,087 applications were received.
178,745 students were presented by public tertiary institutions as official enrollments.
142,089 applicants successfully validated.
120,222 students have so far been reimbursed under the scheme.
The minister emphasised that the programme demonstrates the government’s commitment to ensuring that access to higher education is not hindered by financial difficulties.
He assured that efforts are ongoing to validate and process the remaining applications, while urging students and institutions to cooperate fully to ensure the initiative achieves its intended impact.
