GES releases 2025 SHS placement results, announces support channels for failed students

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released the 2025 Senior High School (SHS) placement results, with 451,797 candidates successfully placed out of the 603,328 results received from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
According to the GES, 19,898 results were withheld or cancelled due to examination malpractice, while some qualified candidates were not matched to their chosen schools and will have to undergo the self-placement process.
The Service has urged students and parents to take immediate steps to confirm result status, complete self-placement if necessary, and resolve outstanding issues before the set deadline.
Support is being provided through dedicated WhatsApp lines—0201045066 and 0201045157.
For candidates using the self-placement system, the GES explained that they can select their preferred region, residential option (day or boarding), school from available choices, and programme of study.
These selections can be changed freely until enrollment is completed.
“Management urges students, teachers, heads of basic schools, directors of education, parents/guardians, and stakeholders to contact us via WhatsApp for support,” the statement added.
The release was signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at the GES, who wished all candidates success in their academic journey.
