Missing ECG containers: Ex-Minister smells collusion between port and ECG staff

Former Deputy Minister for Energy, Collins Adomako Mensah, has accused officials at the Tema Port and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) of being involved in the disappearance of 1,300 containers.
Mr Mensah emphasized that the missing containers didn’t vanish into thin air but rather suggest a deep-rooted issue within the system, with both port and ECG personnel implicated.”
Mr Mensah’s claims shed light on a growing controversy that has left many questioning the integrity of operations at the port and ECG.
According to him,” the missing containers are not just a case of negligence but point to possible collusion between individuals within both institutions.”
He expressed concern over the lack of accountability and transparency in the handling of the containers, calling for a thorough investigation into the matter.
The disappearance of the 1,300 containers, which reportedly contain vital goods, has raised alarms among industry stakeholders and the public, with many demanding swift action to uncover the truth.
As the investigation unfolds, the former Minister’s accusations suggest that this issue goes beyond mere administrative error and could involve more serious criminal activity.
He made these comments in an interview with Accra-based Metro TV.
