GA/R: EOCO descends on Nigerian cyber fraud ring at Mataheko-Afienya, rescues 7 victims
An Economic and Organised Crime Organisation (EOCO) team has swooped down on a cyber fraud ring in the Mataheko-Afienya community, operated by individuals the organisation identified as Nigerians.
An EOCO statement explained that the operation was carried out via their Operation LIFELINE programme on Friday, November 14, 2025, during which 10 individuals were arrested, seven of which were believed to be human-trafficking victims.
The Raymond Archer-led organisation said the victims were "lured" into Ghana by the suspects through promises of employment opportunities, only to be forced into criminal activities like cyber fraud upon arrival.
