President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, will host Indian Prime Minister H.E. Narendra Modi for a two-day official visit from Wednesday, July 2 to Thursday, July 3, 2025, the Office of the President has announced.

The visit, described as historic, marks the first by an Indian Prime Minister to Ghana in recent years and signals a renewed commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership between Accra and New Delhi.

In a statement signed by Presidential Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Presidency said the visit reflects the enduring and warm relations between the two nations.

It added that both leaders will use the opportunity to deepen cooperation in several key sectors.

The official programme for Prime Minister Modi’s visit will include:

A bilateral meeting with President Mahama at Jubilee House

High-level discussions on trade, investment, agriculture, education, technology, healthcare, and energy

An exchange of views on regional and global issues of mutual interest

Signing of bilateral agreements and a joint press briefing

One of the major highlights of the visit will be the signing of a number of bilateral agreements aimed at expanding the framework for cooperation between Ghana and India.

These agreements are expected to pave the way for enhanced economic engagement and stronger developmental ties.

President Mahama and Prime Minister Modi will jointly address the media after the signing ceremony, outlining the new roadmap for collaboration.

To honour the visiting Indian leader and his delegation, President Mahama will also host a State Dinner at the Jubilee House. The event is expected to draw high-level attendees, including government officials, diplomats, and business leaders, all gathered to celebrate the growing friendship between the two countries.

The Presidency says the visit is expected to solidify bilateral ties, promote economic diplomacy, and unlock new opportunities for technological innovation and knowledge exchange.

India has been a long-standing development partner to Ghana, contributing to various sectors such as infrastructure, ICT, education, and industry.

The upcoming visit is seen as a major step forward in building on that partnership to foster inclusive growth and shared prosperity.
