E/R: Fire destroys homes in Kwehyia-NADMO appeals for support

A devastating fire broke out around 6:50 p.m. yesterday in a residence at Kwehyia, a suburb of the Suhum Municipality in the Eastern Region, leaving the occupants with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
The cause of the blaze is yet to be determined by the Ghana National Fire Service.
Swift intervention by the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), and neighbours prevented the flames from spreading to nearby houses.
Despite their efforts, the affected residents lost all their belongings and property.
Following the incident, officials from the Suhum Municipal NADMO visited the scene to assess the extent of the damage.
The team is now appealing to stakeholders and members of the public to support the victims in rebuilding their lives. Contributions can be made through the Suhum Municipal NADMO Directorate or directly to the affected families.
NADMO officials have assured residents of their continued commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
They praised the collaborative efforts that contained the fire and stressed that assistance from individuals and organisations will greatly help the victims recover from this tragedy.
