Christ the King Catholic Church to hold mass vigil for Dr. Omane Boamah and Sqn. Ldr. Bafemi Anala tomorrow

The Christ the King Catholic Church in Cantonments, Accra, will on Thursday, 14th August 2025, host a solemn vigil and Holy Mass in memory of Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence, and Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala of the Ghana Air Force.
Both were among the victims of the 6 August 2025 helicopter crash that claimed eight lives, prompting nationwide mourning and a series of memorial events across the country.
According to the church’s programme, the remembrance will begin at 6:00 p.m. with hymns, tributes, and the reading of biographical reflections, offering a personal and emotional tribute to the two fallen public servants.
This will be followed at 7:30 p.m. by a formal Catholic Mass, honouring their lives and service to the nation.
The event is open to the public and is expected to draw government officials, military personnel, parishioners, and members of the wider community.
Organisers say the ceremony will provide a space for collective reflection and prayer as the nation continues to grieve.
For further inquiries, the public may contact the Christ the King Parish Office on +233-30-277-6501.
