Burial rites for two muslim victims of helicopter crash today

The state will today, Sunday, August 10, hold burial rites for the late Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala and Alhaji Muniru Limuna Mohammed, two of the eight victims of last Wednesday’s military helicopter crash in the Ashanti Region.
A joint announcement by the President of the Republic, the Vice President, the Speaker of Parliament, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the Yagbon Wura and Ndan Ya Naa, the National Chief Imam, the Leader of the Ambariya Sunni Group, and the bereaved families confirmed that the rites will be conducted in accordance with Islamic tradition, customs, and practices.
Muslim Jannaza prayers will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the Forecourt of the State House, followed by burial at 2:30 p.m. at the Military Cemetery in Accra.
The two leaders were among those who perished when a Ghana Armed Forces Z-9 helicopter went off radar en route to Obuasi on August 6, claiming the lives of high-ranking government officials and military personnel.
