Daddy Lumba’s funeral rescheduled to December 13 amid family dispute
The Manhyia Palace in the Ashanti Region has announced that the final funeral rites of the late highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, have been rescheduled to December 13, 2025.
This decision follows a meeting at the Otumfuo Saamanhene Palace on November 10, 2025, where a new funeral committee, chaired by Dadiesoabahene, was appointed to oversee arrangements.
The initial funeral date was set for December 6, but internal disputes within the family led to the rescheduling. Daddy Lumba’s sister, Ernestina Akosua Brempomaa, had requested a postmortem, citing concerns about potential foul play in her brother’s death.
The Asantehene has further pardoned Akosua Brempomaa for invoking the Great Oath but cautioned her against repeating such actions in the future.
