The Brazilian Ambassador to Ghana, Mariana Madeira, has expressed her country’s readiness to support Ghana in developing its cocoa sector while also helping to promote Ghanaian culture to the diaspora community in Brazil.

She made the remarks at the official launch of the Afro-Brazil Ghana Festival 2025.

The two-day festival, scheduled for December 12–13, 2025, will celebrate the cultural, historical, and economic ties between Ghana and Brazil through food, fashion, music, and networking.

Organisers say the event is designed not only to deepen cultural relations but also to open new opportunities for trade, tourism, and infrastructure development, with long-term benefits for both countries.

Ambassador Madeira said the festival provides Ghana with a platform to showcase its tourism, arts, and creative industries to a wider international audience.

She further announced Brazil’s special interest in helping Ghana diversify and add value to its cocoa sector, which remains central to the nation’s economy.

Through the Black Star Experience initiative, the Government of Ghana has pledged to fully support the festival, reinforcing the long-standing partnership between the two nations.

Organisers revealed that after its debut in Accra, the festival will be replicated in Brazil in 2026, creating another avenue for Ghana to market its cultural heritage, creative works, and tourism potential.

Key partners believe the initiative will serve as a global stage for Ghanaian creatives to showcase their talent, while also boosting the visibility of Ghana’s diverse cultural identity.
