A polling station agent at Wassa Akropong-Appiahkrom in Ghana’s Western Region has been arrested following an incident of alleged misconduct during the ongoing general election.
The individual, identified as Stephen Kwofie, is currently in police custody and assisting with investigations into the matter.
The incident occurred at Polling Station A within the specified centre, though details surrounding the nature of the misconduct remain unclear.
In a statement released by the Ghana Police Service, authorities indicated that they are working to establish the facts of the case.
It has not yet been determined which political party, if any, the polling station agent is affiliated with.
The arrest comes amid heightened scrutiny of polling activities as Ghanaians cast their votes in a keenly contested election.
