Court rejects request to halt Abdul-Wahab and wife’s trial

The Accra High Court has rejected a request by lawyers to adjourn the trial of Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba until October 19, pending a stay of proceedings application before the Court of Appeal.
The court held that filing a stay application does not automatically halt proceedings at the trial court.
However, the court accepted medical reports submitted by counsel for the accused persons and granted an adjournment on health grounds.
Hanan Abdul wahab and his wife, Faiza Seidu Wuni, are facing 11 charges including causing financial loss to the state and money laundering.
The case has been adjourned to September 29 and 30, 2026.
