The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Zongo Development Fund (ZoDF), Halidu Haruna, has engaged members of the Turkish community in Ghana to explore opportunities for collaboration to support the development of Zongo communities across the country.

The engagement took place during an Iftar (breaking of fast) programme organised by the Embassy of Turkey in Ghana at Maarif International School in Accra.

The event brought together industrialists, entrepreneurs, diplomats, Non-Governmental Organisations, philanthropists and educationists from the Turkish community.

Addressing participants, Alhaji Haruna highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships with key stakeholders to accelerate development in Zongo communities.

He commended the Turkish community for its contributions to various sectors of Ghana’s development and encouraged continued support for the Zongo Development Fund, describing it as a major government initiative aimed at transforming Zongo communities through targeted development projects.

According to him, additional support from stakeholders, alongside statutory government funding, would help fast-track development in the more than 4,000 Zongo communities across the country that are seeking socio-economic transformation.

The Iftar programme was hosted by the Turkish Ambassador to Ghana, Huseyin Gungor, as part of efforts to foster engagement and strengthen ties with key partners.
