Salary payment delays hit YEA
Management of the Youth Employment Agency(YEA) has assured staff that steps are being taken to resolve a temporary delay in the payment of salaries.
In a memo dated March 4, 2026, and issued by the Corporate Affairs Department, management attributed the delay to a technical issue involving the agency’s bankers.
The memo was signed by Abdul-Wahab Jawando, Public Relations Officer.
The statement explained that the banking challenge, which disrupted the processing of salaries, is currently being addressed. Management indicated that it has received assurances that the matter will be resolved as soon as possible.
According to the memo, once the technical issue is rectified, salaries are expected to reflect immediately in the accounts of staff.
Management further gave assurances that all outstanding salaries will be fully paid by next week.
The agency expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the delay and appealed to staff for patience and understanding as efforts continue to restore normal payment processes.
