The Mamponghemaa, in accordance with Asante custom and tradition, has confirmed the selection of Nana Leslie Nkansa Osei-Bonsu as the new Chief of Mampong in the Ashanti Region.

In line with established procedures of the Asante Kingdom, Nana Leslie Nkansa Osei-Bonsu will, in the coming days, be formally presented to His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, at the Manhyia Palace.

There, he will swear the Great Oath of Allegiance to the King before assuming his full responsibilities as the traditional ruler of the people of Mampong.

This significant moment adds another chapter to the illustrious history of the Mampong Stool, a revered symbol of leadership, wisdom, and service within the Asante Kingdom.

Nana Leslie Nkansa Osei-Bonsu is a highly accomplished software architect and geospatial systems strategist with more than two decades of professional experience spanning Europe and Africa.

His career reflects a unique blend of technical expertise, visionary leadership, and an enduring commitment to service — hallmarks of the royal lineage of Mampong.

He holds advanced degrees in Computational Science and Geo-Information Science, as well as a First-Class B.Sc. in Geomatic Engineering, underscoring his dedication to academic and professional excellence.

Currently serving as Product and Service Group Manager at GAF AG, Germany, Nana Leslie leads multidisciplinary teams developing innovative solutions in spatial analysis, agricultural decision support, and secure identity management.

His work champions sustainable technological development while adhering to international best practices.

His leadership journey began early — from serving as Assistant School Prefect at Prempeh College to becoming President of the Prempeh College Old Students Association (KNUST Chapter) — where he promoted mentorship, education, and community engagement.

Fluent in English, Twi, and German, and deeply rooted in the Botaase Royal Family of Asante Mampong, Nana Leslie embodies both cultural authenticity and global perspective.

He is a certified Scrum Master and Product Owner, and a member of IEEE, ACM, and the IEEE Computer Society.
